Our indoor environments have been thoughtfully designed to support children's holistic development. They spark curiosity and interest across a variety of new topics, even during independent play, children encounter limitless opportunities for learning.
These environments boast seamless access to our outdoor facilities, with each room featuring a spacious AstroTurf area. Our team consistently takes advantage of these outstanding outdoor spaces by crafting stimulating and engaging activities that mirror the indoor environments. Whether it's nurturing budding chefs in our Mud Kitchen, hosting aspiring superheroes in the expansive open space, or encouraging young footballers with our goalposts, the children have such a wide range of opportunities on offer.
School readiness is a big focus in our Preschool Rooms. It is characterised by the elements within a school environment that facilitate a seamless transition for children and their families into primary school. The notion of school readiness varies for each child, acknowledging their individuality and unique milestone achievements. From their initial session in Preschool, we provide tailored support to each child, fostering both life and academic skills suited to their developmental stage. This approach ensures they are well-equipped as they progress through the different stages. We also fully engage parents in our School Readiness programme by organising School Readiness evenings for them, conducting termly parents' evenings, and providing regular updates on their child's progress through our EyLog app. Consequently, this ensures they achieve the best possible outcomes as they transition from Preschool to the more formal setting of primary school.
Within our Preschool Room, you have the opportunity to acquire a preschool uniform for your child. The adoption of a nursery uniform provides numerous advantages, including instilling a sense of belonging and helping children acclimatise to wearing a uniform in anticipation of their school years. At The Old School House, we strive to explore all possible avenues to assist children in their preparation for school.
Our Preschool provides a wide range of opportunities meticulously designed to continually advance the children's learning experience. This includes the introduction of subjects such as Mathematics and Literacy, delivered through sessions by external professionals, as well as Drama classes, Cooking School, and various other activities. Furthermore, the children have the opportunity to engage in school-like events, such as a Christmas Nativity, Sports Days, and Graduation ceremonies. These extraordinary occasions are instrumental in bringing families together and celebrating the children's accomplishments.
